Lahore : The Government of Punjab has launched the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER), a landmark digital initiative aimed at identifying and supporting vulnerable households across the province. The registry, developed under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, will serve as a comprehensive database to ensure that social welfare programs reach those who need them most.

The PSER project is designed to collect detailed information about families’ income levels, employment status, education, assets, and living conditions. Citizens can register through designated centers or via the official online portal. The data will be used to determine eligibility for various government assistance programs, including health coverage, education scholarships, e-bikes, and other welfare schemes.

Officials said that the initiative marks a major step toward transparent and data-driven governance, ensuring that public resources are allocated fairly and effectively. By maintaining a real-time, centralized database, the Punjab government aims to reduce duplication, prevent misuse of funds, and strengthen social protection systems for marginalized communities.

The PSER is being rolled out in phases, beginning with registration drives across major districts. Dedicated facilitation centers and helplines have also been established to assist citizens in completing their registration. The government has urged all households in Punjab to participate in the survey to ensure their inclusion in future welfare initiatives.
