Lahore : The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, continues to extend financial assistance to persons with disabilities through the Himmat Card Program, a landmark welfare initiative designed to support individuals who are unable to work due to physical or mental disabilities.
So far, more than 100,000 persons with disabilities (PWDs) across the province have benefited from the program. Under the initiative, each eligible beneficiary receives a quarterly stipend of Rs 10,500, disbursed through a Bank of Punjab (BOP) ATM Card, ensuring transparency, financial inclusion, and easy access to funds.
The Himmat Card also serves as an official identification card for registered PWDs, enabling them to access additional government welfare services, concessions, and facilities. The program exemplifies the Punjab government’s commitment to promoting inclusive development and social protection for vulnerable citizens.
For information or registration, citizens can contact the helpline at 1312 or visit their nearest Social Welfare Office. The initiative continues to expand its outreach across Punjab, ensuring that no deserving person with a disability is left without support.
