LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced that around 100,000 electric bikes will be provided to talented male and female students under the “CM Maryam Nawaz E-Bike Scheme”.
Students from government and private schools, colleges and universities can apply. The scheme covers students from more than 33,000 public and private educational institutions across Punjab. The electric bikes will be available in different colors, with pink bikes designated for girls.
The total cost of each electric bike is listed at PKR 199,000, while the cost payable by the student is PKR 109,000. Students will pay this amount through a 36-month installment plan, with the monthly installment set at PKR 3,028. The government will cover the insurance, mark-up and registration costs, reducing the overall financial burden on students.
