Lahore: In a landmark move to promote inclusivity and equal access to higher education, the Government College University (GCU) Syndicate has approved a complete tuition fee waiver for physically challenged students.
The decision was made during the Syndicate’s 72nd meeting, chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry. The meeting also saw the approval of several new academic, administrative, and welfare initiatives aimed at improving the university’s learning environment and support systems.
Prof. Dr. Chaudhry hailed the decision as a significant step toward ensuring that all students, regardless of physical challenges, can pursue higher education without financial barriers.
“This initiative reflects GCU’s longstanding commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and student welfare,” he said, adding that further measures will continue to enhance support for differently abled students on campus.
