LAHORE: Under the dynamic leadership of Principal of Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) and Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC), Prof Dr Muhammad Farooq Afzal, Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has achieved a major milestone in healthcare by formally resuming corneal transplant surgeries after a gap of nearly one decade.

The revival of this highly specialized surgical service marks a significant advancement in eye care at LGH and brings renewed hope to hundreds of visually impaired patients. Recently, two deserving patients successfully underwent corneal transplant procedures at the Eye Unit of Lahore General Hospital, reflecting the institution’s enhanced capacity to provide advanced medical services.

On this occasion, PGMI Principal Prof Dr Muhammad Farooq Afzal and Medical Superintendent Prof Dr Faryad Hussain described the achievement as a historic landmark for the institution. They congratulated the dedicated teams of LGH, PGMI, and Ameer-ud-Din Medical College for their collective efforts in restoring this critical healthcare service.
