Lahore: The Special Education Department Punjab has officially awarded the contract for the Chief Minister’s Meal Programme to Fauji Foods Limited, after the company emerged as the lowest bidder in the procurement process.

Under this newly signed agreement, Fauji Foods will provide nutritious meals—including milk and biscuits—to students enrolled in Special Education Institutions across Punjab. The initiative is aimed at supporting the health, well-being, and educational inclusion of children with special needs.

According to departmental officials, more than 50,000 special children are currently studying in over 300 Special Education Institutions across the province. To facilitate the programme’s rollout, the Special Education Department has already forwarded a summary to the Chief Minister of Punjab for final approval.

Once approved, the programme will ensure that special children receive milk and biscuits five days a week. The Punjab government has allocated Rs. 1 billion in the current fiscal year to support this initiative, reflecting its commitment to improving nutrition and learning outcomes for children with special needs.

The partnership between the Special Education Department and Fauji Foods Limited marks a significant step toward building a healthier and more inclusive future for every child in Punjab.
