
LAHORE: In anticipation of the upcoming monsoon rains, the Al-Khidmat Foundation Lahore has established a state-of-the-art “Monsoon (Disaster) Rescue Cell” in the Gulberg area. The initiative aims to mitigate the impact of potential natural calamities and urban flooding in the city.
The facility was jointly inaugurated by the Patron of Al-Khidmat Foundation Lahore, Zia-ud-Din Ansari Advocate, and President Engineer Hammad Rashid. Following the ceremony, President Rashid briefed key officials on emergency response protocols, rescue machinery, and strategic deployment lines.
The inauguration was attended by prominent leadership, including Vice Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Khalid Ahmed Butt, alongside operational staff and dedicated rescue volunteers. Speaking at the event, Zia-ud-Din Ansari Advocate emphasized that Al-Khidmat remains committed to serving the residents of Lahore during testing times, setting benchmarks in disaster management despite limited resources.
