CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Celebrates Milestone of 100,000 Loans Under ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ Program in Punjab

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her gratitude as the Punjab government successfully achieved its target of providing 100,000 loans to low-income families for building houses under the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ program. Remarkably, the one-year target was achieved in just ten months, a testament to the efficiency and dedication of the project team.

Under the initiative, Rs. 120 billion in easy, interest-free loans has been disbursed to 100,835 families. So far, 22,305 houses have been completed and occupied, while 64,190 homes are in the final stages of construction.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif hailed the program as a milestone in Punjab’s housing sector, fulfilling the long-cherished dream of providing a roof to the underprivileged. She said, “We can never thank Almighty Allah enough for granting us the opportunity to turn this dream into reality. The vision of providing homes to the poor was first conceived by Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and by the grace of Allah we have been able to carry this noble mission forward.”

Highlighting the transparency and efficiency of the project, the Chief Minister stated that disbursing one lakh loans in ten months sets a model of good governance. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continue the initiative, noting, “Our resolve to achieve a target of building 500,000 houses in five years remains unwavering.” She added that for the first time, the program has made citizens feel that the state cares for them with protection, nurturing, and compassion.
