Lahore: Sports Board Punjab is set to organize the CM Punjab Inter-School, College and University Sports Games, which officials describe as the biggest sports event in the country’s history, with thousands of male and female athletes expected to participate.
According to officials, students from various madrassas will also take part in the mega sporting event. The initiative aims to encourage young people to engage in healthy and positive activities through sports.
Director General Tariq Qureshi shared these details while presiding over a meeting held at the National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended in person by Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Director Sports Chand Parveen and Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed. Divisional and district sports officers, district education officers, and representatives from the Home Department, School Education Department and Higher Education Department joined the session through video link.
Addressing the participants, Tariq Qureshi said competitions in 12 different sports disciplines will be held during the CM Punjab School Games. He added that contests will take place from inter-tehsil to inter-division levels, while the final rounds will be organized in Lahore.
“The purpose of these games is to attract youth towards positive activities and promote sports culture across Punjab,” he said.
