QUETTA: The Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Balochistan has launched a targeted anti-polio vaccination campaign across 13 districts in the province. The initiative focuses on 62 high-risk union councils (UCs) to protect children and interrupt the transmission of the poliovirus.
According to EOC Coordinator Inam Ul Haq, the campaign specifically targets areas identified with high-risk mobile populations and active virus circulation. The drive aims to vaccinate a total of 209,557 children under the age of five.
To ensure comprehensive coverage, the EOC has deployed 862 vaccination teams. Operations are further supported by 61 fixed vaccination sites and 72 transit points designed to administer the life-saving oral vaccine to children traveling with their families.
