LAHORE: Preparations have been finalized for the first Chief Minister Punjab Special Games 2025, scheduled to be held in Lahore from December 10 to 12.
The landmark three-day event, organized at Punjab Stadium under the supervision of Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Department and the Council on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities(CRPD) will feature participation from ministers, ambassadors, parliamentarians, and persons with disabilities.
Punjab’s Minister for Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal, Sohail Shoukat Butt stated that the Sports and Youth Affairs Department and Special Education Department Punjab are providing full support to ensure the successful conduct of the games.
Special athletes, young sports enthusiasts, and children with autism from across Punjab will compete in various categories.
The competitions will include athletics, badminton, table tennis, football, basketball, and other sports. Special athletes will also compete in pentathlon, tug of war, volleyball, and boccia. Butt emphasized that the primary objective of the games is to promote social inclusion and highlight the abilities of persons with disabilities. This year’s theme focuses on enhancing their participation in social development.
He added that arrangements for accommodation, meals, transportation, and medical facilities for the participating athletes are in the final stages.
