Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the second phase of the Chief Minister Livestock Assets Programme, extending the initiative to 12 districts of Punjab, including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Layyah.

The programme aims to empower rural women by providing free buffaloes and cows, enabling them to earn a sustainable, home-based income through livestock and dairy production. Women who are widowed, divorced, or from low-income households, and up to 55 years of age, are eligible to apply.

The application deadline has been extended to November 25, and applications can be submitted through the mobile app Asset Transfer to Rural Women. Those needing assistance can visit Chief Minister Facilitation Desks set up at nearby veterinary dispensaries in participating districts.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the programme reflects the government’s commitment to reducing rural poverty and providing equal economic opportunities for women. “The Livestock Assets Programme is about empowering women to build a stable source of income within their homes. Every daughter of Punjab deserves the chance to become economically independent,” she stated.
