Punjab Sports Endowment Fund Scholarships Increased

LAHORE: The Punjab Sports Department has announced a significant increase in scholarship amounts under the Punjab Sports Endowment Fund, aimed at improving athlete welfare and supporting sports talent across the province.

The announcement was made by Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab, M Ali, during a meeting held at the Punjab Stadium on Monday. The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Sports Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, and officials from the Pension Fund.

While briefing the participants, the secretary sports said that scholarship amounts have been enhanced across all categories. Under the revised structure, the Platinum category scholarship has been increased from Rs70,000 to Rs100,000, the Gold category from Rs50,000 to Rs70,000, and the Silver category from Rs30,000 to Rs50,000.

During the meeting, administrative matters related to the upcoming Khelta Punjab Pink Games were also reviewed. The secretary sports said the Pink Games are the largest sports event for female athletes in Punjab and will be held from February 11 to 15, 2026, with players participating from all divisions of the province.

He emphasised that the Punjab Sports Department is moving in the right direction, with a strong focus on athlete welfare, financial support, and long-term sports development.
