Punjab CM Increases Athletes’ Endowment Fund to Rs4 Billion for 2026

LAHORE: The Punjab government will continue to fully support initiatives aimed at promoting positive youth engagement, as the Punjab Chief Minister has increased the Athletes’ Endowment Fund to Rs4 billion for 2026.

This was stated by Provincial Minister for Energy, Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the sixth edition of the Zalmi Madrassa League at Punjab University on Friday.

The minister emphasized that the provincial government is committed to encouraging sports and healthy activities among youth, particularly students from religious seminaries, to help them showcase their talent and contribute positively to society.

The Zalmi Madrassa League is being organized by the Zalmi Foundation in collaboration with the Punjab government, Punjab University, and the Directorate General of Religious Education (DGRE), Government of Pakistan.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajeeha Qamar, Director General Religious Education Maj Gen (retd) Dr Ghulam Qamar, Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology Dr Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Ali, and Peshawar Zalmi COO Mian Abbas Laiq.
