LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the launch of a special “Maryam Ko Batain” programme during Ramazan to provide immediate financial assistance to deserving families across Punjab.
In a message posted on X on Monday, the chief minister said the initiative would commence from the first of Ramazan to ensure timely support for individuals facing financial hardship. Under the programme, each eligible applicant will be entitled to receive financial assistance of up to Rs10,000 within 24 hours.
A dedicated helpline — 1000 — will become operational at the start of Ramazan, allowing citizens to apply for assistance. Applicants may also request aid by entering their CNIC number through a web portal or mobile application. The verification process will be conducted via a transparent digital system equipped with live tracking, digital record-keeping, and monitoring features to ensure accountability.
According to the chief minister, individuals already registered in the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) database will receive funds within 24 hours, while verification and registration of new applicants will be completed within four days. She emphasized that during Ramazan, the provincial government would ensure access to state resources for every deserving individual in need of assistance.
