PITB Receives Over 14,000 Applications Under Global IT Certification Programme

LAHORE: Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has received more than 14,000 applications for international certifications under its Global IT Certification Programme since its launch in September 2024.

The progress of the programme was reviewed during a meeting chaired by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf. The meeting was attended by Director General e-Governance Sajid Latif, Director Skills Development Wing Chaudhry Ahmad Islam, along with other senior officials.

During the briefing, officials informed the meeting that the eligibility of over 7,900 applicants has been verified through a PITB-developed online portal. Additionally, payments of 448 applicants have been verified, while the fee reimbursement process is currently underway for 346 candidates following confirmation of their certifications.

So far, 231 young professionals who have successfully completed their international certifications have received full reimbursement of certification fees, directly transferred to their bank accounts.

The Global IT Certification Programme aims to equip youth with internationally recognised digital skills, enhancing their employability in the global technology market.

Speaking on the occasion, Faisal Yousaf stated that the initiative provides young professionals with opportunities to obtain certifications recognized by leading global technology companies. He added that the Government of Punjab is fully reimbursing certification fees for successful candidates, reflecting its strong commitment to youth empowerment and digital skills development.
