LAHORE: Minister for Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Punjab Sohail Shoukat Butt chaired an important departmental meeting on Friday, attended by DG Social Welfare Tariq Qureshi and all directors of the directorate.

During the meeting, the provincial minister issued clear instructions to achieve the target of distributing Himmat Cards to 100,000 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) by December 10. He emphasized that the initiative is a top priority of the Punjab government and warned that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.

In a major policy decision, the department resolved to complete the distribution of wheelchairs and assistive devices—originally scheduled for June 2026—by December 2025. The minister further directed authorities to ensure the distribution of 17,000 assistive devices by December 15, expediting all processes involved.

Sohail Shoukat Butt instructed officers across all districts to accelerate daily progress on both the Himat Card and assistive device distribution programs. He reiterated that timely execution of these public welfare projects is essential and strict action will be taken in case of any delays or lapses.
