LAHORE: A fake notification circulating on social media on Saturday claimed that Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Khan had been replaced by PML-N leader Hina Pervaiz Butt, causing confusion among social media users.
The minister promptly refuted the claim through his official social media accounts, clarifying that no such change had taken place and that the notification was false.
Officials from the Punjab Education Department also dismissed the viral document, terming it baseless and misleading. They urged the public to rely only on official government sources for authentic information and avoid sharing unverified content.
Authorities have reiterated the importance of verifying information before circulating it on social media to prevent the spread of misinformation.
