
FAISALABAD: Under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, a collective marriage ceremony under the Punjab Dhee Rani Programme was held at a local marriage hall in Faisalabad.
Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Sohail Shoukat Butt attended the event as the chief guest. Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar, DG Social Welfare Punjab Tariq Qureshi, MPAs Jaffar Ali Hocha, Azad Ali Tabassum, Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti, Former MPAs Faqir Hussain Dogar and Dr Najma Afzal Khan along with other dignitaries, were also present.

The marriages of 111 deserving couples were solemnized, including one daughter of a prisoner, one differently-abled couple, and eight daughters from the Christian community. Each couple received a cash gift of Rs200,000 through BOP ATM cards on behalf of the chief minister.
Addressing the gathering, the provincial minister said the target of facilitating the marriages of 5,000 deserving daughters across Punjab would be achieved by the end of February. He added that the Dhee Rani Programme reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to the welfare, dignity, and empowerment of deserving daughters.
